About the Role
The Entry-Level Assistant Controller provides foundational support to the plant’s finance and accounting team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to grow their expertise in cost accounting and financial reporting. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Plant Controller and other departments to ensure accurate financial data, assist with reporting, and help maintain strong internal controls.
Financial Reporting & Support
Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements under the guidance of the Plant Controller.
Support reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Prepare standard financial reports and assist with analysis of plant performance metrics.
Cost Accounting & Inventory Support
Assist in tracking production costs and analyzing basic cost variances.
Support inventory reconciliations and participate in physical inventory counts.
Learn and apply basic cost accounting principles to support operational decision-making.
Compliance & Controls
Support adherence to internal accounting controls and company policies.
Assist in preparing audit documentation as requested.
Learning & Development
Participate in training on ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and manufacturing cost processes.
Gain hands-on experience in analyzing operational and financial data to support plant performance improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
Skills & Competencies
Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions
Position is on-site at the manufacturing plant, with occasional exposure to the production floor.
Flexibility during month-end close and reporting periods is expected.
