About the Role
Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines to produce precise cuts on various sheet metal materials according to detailed blueprints and specifications
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to ensure accurate fabrication
Program CNC laser machines using specialized software to optimize cutting paths and efficiency
Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on laser equipment to maintain optimal performance
Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances
Utilize hand tools and fabrication equipment
Operate forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment safely for loading raw materials and finished products
Support help to other production lines will be required.
Perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance of laser equipment and work areas.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machines or similar CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines or CNC lathes
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues on laser equipment
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances
Knowledge of tooling setup, sheet metal fabrication, and quality inspection procedures
Comfortable operating a forklift
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions
